    1841-1845
He was the ”Tyler” of the campaign slogan, ” Tippecanoe and Tyler, too”. After the death of William Henry Harrison, his vice president and famous slogan partner, John Tyler, became president of Unite State. In 1841, it said if the president removed from office, or if he dies, resign or is not able to perform his duty, his power and responsibility is given to vice President.
John Tyler was from southern state of Virigina, a lawyer from an upper-class family, who owned slaves, but United state was starting to change. In other words, the U.S. was becoming more national, abolitionist and equal. Tyler resisted their changes, He fought against them, as a member of U.S. House Representative governor of Viriginia
and a senator. Tyler joined with other several political leaders to create a new, Anty Jackson party. They were called the ‘Whigs’.Tyler became unexpectedly president. Tyler was an unusual president. He took office in an unusual way, and he took the unusual step of vetoing legislative action proposed by his own party.Whig lawmaker presented bill after bill to Tyler, but he failed to support the measures. In anger all but one of Tyler cabinet members resigned. He became now as a president without party.
But Tyler achieved one major goal, he signed the law that made Texas a state, just three days before he left.
Tyler was the first president to get married, while in office. His first wife, Letita, had died, left eight children behind. His second wife Julia Gardina. The two had plenty of time to have another seven children. Tyler’s grandchildren are still alive as of early 2017.
