Organization is a skill. It’s something you must learn. No one is born with it.

In this article I’ll share the steps I took to become organized, and hopefully give you some insight into how you can achieve this too.

STEP 1: Get Organized

This is the first thing you must do. Once you have a solid foundation, the rest will be easier. Start by making a list of things you need to do and prioritize them.

STEP 2: Start Small

You should start small and build from there. Organizing your office, your email, your personal documents, etc.

It’s not about getting everything in order, it’s about starting with the stuff you need to get started.

STEP 3: Do the Most Important First

When organizing, focus on the most important items first. This way you won’t forget anything.

STEP 4: Don’t Forget About the Small Stuff

Don’t forget the small stuff, but don’t worry if it doesn’t get done right away. This will be fixed over time.

STEP 5: Use the Right Tools

Use whatever tools you feel most comfortable with. There are several ways to organize, but there isn’t one right way.
