  2. 4.2.2. Lesson: The President of America
    ” George Washington: Reluctant (1789-1797)
George Washington is often called the ” Father of his Country”. He not only served as the first President of the United State, but he also commanded the continental Army during the American Revolution 1775-83 and President over the convention that drafted the U.S Constitution.
George Washington was born in 1732 in the colony Vergina. His father died when he was 11 years old. As a boy he learned reading, writing and math then he worked as land surveyor in Western Virginia West. He owned land in West Verginia, Ohio, New York and many other places in the United State. He owned more than 50,000 acre and was an ardent promoter of West World expansion.
George Washington stood about 1.9 meters tall, very strong and very graceful, one of the best horseback riders and best dancers. The only problem was, he had bad teeth, and he did wear denture.
they were made in part from hippopotamus Ivory.
He went to war against the French and Indians as British Army Officer. AS the first President of United State, George Washington served from 1789 to 1797. He had earned many achievements. The big victory of his job was the bold actions saved the American Revolution twice. He was fearless in battle. He never abused power.
Doug Bradburn is the founding director of the Washington Library at mount Vernon talked very high about George Washington, he said, when George Washington took office, the country was,” Fragile” and the chances that it would even, survive were probably very, very slim. He formulated the job for all Presidents and always used the Constitution as his guide.
As, I understand George Washinton basically was an army man not a politician, even though he performed his office duty, being a president, very honestly, motivationally and with great dedication. I think, not to accept third time office of president increased his respect and dignity a lot .
