” Tippecanoe and Tyler too” has been called the most famous President’s catchy Compian slogan in American history.” Tyler referred to John Tyler, Harrison’s partner on the ticket. In other words, Harrison was the candidate for President and Tyler was the vice president.
William Henry Harrison was the youngest and educated child of a wealthy family from the southern state of Verginia. His father signed the Declaration of
Independence and became the governor of the Verginia. Henry joined the military and succussed quickly as an Army Officer, earned a reputation as an able leader in fights against native Americans. Although, he was a well-known fighter against native Americans, he could not find lasting success as a politician. He served briefly in both the houses of representative and the senate, but he did not stay in those positions long. His presidency was the shortest in the U. S history.
Harrison delivered a lengthy inauguration speech on a cold and rainy day without wearing a coat and hat. Unfortunately, this exposure likely contributed to his subsequent illness, just 32 days into his presidency Harrison fell seriously ill with pneumonia. His health deteriorated rapidly, and he passed away on April 4, 1841.His death remained the shortest tenure of any U.S President. Medical understanding at the time was limited, and the treatments were often ineffective. Harrison’s presidency was tragically brief due to illness, poor weather and lack of medical advancement.
