The President of United States.
” Ulysses. Grant, Well Meaning”
Ulysses, Grant was 18th president of United State. Grant is best remembered for being the commander of Union Forces at the end of Civil War and he led the United State to victory over the Confederate States of America. Grant was not great at academic, and he was an average student at west point and avoided church services, but he was a skilled horse man. He was not fan of President Andrew Johnson. As a general Grant was close to President Lincoln.
Grant’s father was a tanner, a person who makes a leather from animal skin, but Grant did not like his father’s work. Grant also did not seem like a solder; he is sensitive and quite man and did not like men die in battel, yet he turned out to be excellent military leader. Early in his career he married Julia Dent, and they have got four children. His family could not come with Grant on all her positions for the military. They were separated for years at a time. He resigned from army. The things took surprisingly turn, the Civil War began, military leader and the Union needed experienced military Leader. His image grew as military leader, as he won major victories for the union in battels at fort Donelson, Timmeses and Vicksburg, Mississipe. The way, Grant planned the battels, and he permitted so many of his solders to die that he received a nick name,’ The Butcher’ by his critics, though Grant’s strategy was harsh, but it was effective, because the Civil War ended when the famous confederate general Rebert Elee surrendered to the grant at Appomattonce Court House, Virginia. So, the republicans nominated Grant as their candidate, he won easily but did not proof himself a successful president. Luckly, he won a second term more easily than first, but his administration suffered because of corrupt government official, and the country entered a bad economic depression.
Grant died in 1885, people across the country mourned the loss of Grant. He is buried there, also with his beloved wife in a well-known memorial popularly called, ‘Grant’s Tomb’
