Everyday Grammar,” Relative adverbs”
In English grammar the words where, when and why are relative adverbs that interduce adverbal and adjectival clauses. Relative adverbs are words that provide more information about the people, place or things being discussing.
For example, we take a look the following two sentences.
This the place.
we met first time
Above both sentences are correct but look a bit awkward to read or say. To make more fluid in writing and saying relative adverbs, as,’ this the place where we met first time’.
Gone are the days when I could stay up all the night.
This is the Pakistani restaurant where you will find the best Biryani.
I have no idea why he called.
